How To Get Rid Of Pet Hair Effectively In Four Steps

Removing pet hair from your home doesn’t have to be a difficult task. All you need to do is follow some smart strategies that can give you the result you want and get the job done in the least possible time. The ways mentioned here will help you to clean pet hair and make your home a more hygienic place to live.

Pet hair is different from human hair in many ways. First off, it is much longer. Pet hair can reach lengths of several inches. This makes it easier to brush out and remove. However, this also means that pet hair tends to clump together. When you comb through your furred friend, you may notice that some strands stay stuck to the brush while others fall away.

Second, pet hair is softer than human hair. While both types of hair are composed of protein, the structure of the protein differs between the two. Human hair is made up of keratin, a hard material that gives hair its strength. On the other hand, animal hair contains collagen, a soft protein that allows hair to bend and flex. As a result, pet hair is less durable than human hair.

Third, pet hair is lighter than human hair. Most animals shed their coats throughout the year. This means that they lose weight and their hair becomes thinner. As a result, the hair on their bodies gets lighter and lighter until it finally falls out.

Finally, pet hair is more porous than human hair. Unlike humans, pets do not sweat. Sweat glands help us rid our bodies of toxins. Instead, we rely on our pores to release moisture. The pores on our skin are smaller than those found on animals. As a result, we tend to be more prone to bacterial infections.

How to get rid of pet hair effectively in four steps

1. Use a vacuum cleaner

Vacuum cleaners are great at getting rid of pet hair from carpets, but they aren't ideal for removing fur from furniture. A good solution is to invest in a handheld vacuum cleaner designed specifically for cleaning up after pets. This type of vacuum cleaner works well for picking up loose hairs and dirt while leaving behind any fur or dander.

2. Wash clothes in hot water

Washing clothes in cold water may seem like a quick fix, but it actually makes things worse. Cold water causes the fabric to shrink, which traps the pet hair inside the fibers. When you wash your clothes in hot water, the heat expands the fibers, allowing the trapped hair to fall out.

3. Clean rugs with a steam mop

A steam mop uses steam to loosen up pet hair stuck in carpeting. To clean a rug, fill the bottom chamber of the mop with warm water and add some dish soap. Then place the mop head into the steamer and turn it on. Steam should begin to rise from the bottom of the mop. Let the steam sit for a few minutes before moving the mop around the room.

4. Use a dry shampoo

Dry shampoos are a great alternative to washing your hair every day. They contain ingredients that absorb oil and grease without weighing down your hair. Simply spray onto damp hair, rub through, and then comb through.
