Indoor activities to do with your pets when its raining outside

Play with your pet in a safe place indoors.
Take them to meet their friends:
If you have invested effort in socializing your pet, this is the best time to reap the rewards of that effort. You can take your pet to meet their friends or even leave them in a closed pet shelter to make new friends. A covered pet ride with enough room to roam, or a play area can work wonders to keep your pet active.

Go upstairs:
If you have a staircase in your home or apartment complex, you are in luck. One of the easiest activities that you can do is to pet your pet and walk up and down the stairs. For variety, you can treat your dog after a full set, pet him or even verbally encourage him. You can also try the stay command on your dog, releasing him from the situation once you are on the other end of the stairs, to make it fun for both your dog and you.

You can take your pet to meet their friends or even leave them at a closed pet boarding to make new friends. Walk your pet.
Climb the stairs: If you have stairs in your home or apartment complex, you are in luck. One of the easiest activities to do is to leash your pet and walk up and down the stairs. To get variety, you can treat your dog after one complete set, pet them or even verbally encourage them. You can also try the stay command on your dog, and release them from the position once you are on the other end of the stairs, to make it interesting for your dog and you.

Set a chair or stool in the middle of the floor. Encourage your dog to walk underneath and through the stool. Reward them with a treat or encouragement each time. You can then teach them to walk around the chair in a circle, or over the top if possible.

Watch your pet.
If your sweet pup has developed some not-so-sweet habits, such as “disappearing” your shoes, leaving “surprises” on the carpet, or barking excessively, it might be time to download a dog training app. There are different apps that focus on different goals, but what all humane ones have in common is the notion that rewarding good behavior (positive reinforcement) and redirecting unwanted behavior into a positive action will result in a well-behaved dog. If you train with patience, enthusiasm, consistency, and clarity, your dog is likely to have a great time and look forward to each session.
