Flowers are beautiful to look at and are great for decorating your home, but what many pet owners don't know is that many flowers can be toxic to your pets! If your pet eats the wrong flower, they can become very ill or even die!

Here are 5 different flowers that are harmful to pets that you should watch out for:

 

1. Lilies

Lilies are toxic to pets if ingested. Even though they look beautiful, they have been known to cause vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, and even death. Ingestion of lily bulbs can result in liver failure, kidney damage, and even death.

 

2. Dahlias

Dahlia flowers are poisonous to dogs and cats. Symptoms of poisoning include lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, convulsions, and coma. Dahlia flowers should not be kept around pets.

 

3. Hydrangeas

Hydrangea flowers are toxic to animals. Dogs and cats may eat them and suffer from gastrointestinal upset, including vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain.

 

4. Tulips

Tulip flowers are toxic to dogs and cats. Signs of toxicity include vomiting, diarrhea, depression, weakness, and seizures.

 

5. Chrysanthemums

Chrysanthemum flowers are toxic to dogs. Symptoms of ingestion include vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
