The Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) commissioner has issued an order to pet owners to clean their pet poop from a public place or pay a fine of 1,000.
It makes Jabalpur the third city in the state to impose such a ban after Indore and Bhopal. Now, people can't go out with their dogs regardless of dirtying the public space. If anyone is found to be doing so, he will have to pay a fine of 1,000. The order was issued under the provisions of the Municipal Corporation Act 1956,JMC commissioner Sandeep GR said.

People love their pets but don't want to take responsibility. He said they keep their homes clean by encouraging their pets in dirty public places.
Now, pet owners will have to carry with them a poop scooper and a poop bag while strolling their dogs in public places.
Indore is the cleanest city in India for the last five years and other cities are adopting the model to improve their ranking in swachh survekshan. Jabalpur is currently ranked 17th.
