The Afghan Hound breed is very ancient and 1970 it is very popular. Afghan hound breed originally found in the western region of Afghanistan. During the first half of the 20th century, these dogs sent to England. These dogs mostly used for hunting in the mountains and desert because of its speed and agility. In USA and Europe, these dogs mostly kept as the family dog. If these dogs treated with great affection these dogs easily bond with family members and always be there for your help. The head and ears of the Afghan hound are long. The head, ear, legs and chest thickly covered with long and silky hair. The face coat of these dogs available in red, black, cream, blue, white but most of the dogs are available in a black coat. The height of these dogs are between 24 to 28 inches and weight between 45 to 65 pounds. The average lifespan of these dogs between 12 to 14 years. These dogs need exercise and require the time of a day to run and jump. Muscle tone and health long walk are also good for them. These dogs require the fenced yard to live. Afghan dogs are playful in puppy stage but when it grows they become mature and independent. These dogs must require grooming and if you are thinking to buy this dogs as a pet then you must like grooming or you must willing to pay a professional groomer.
